Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati & Transfer to Shillong
Arrive at Guwahati, where your journey begins. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your driver who will transfer you to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. The scenic drive from Guwahati to Shillong takes approximately 3-4 hours (100 km). As you enter the hill station, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of lush green hills and winding roads. Once in Shillong, check into your hotel and unwind. In the evening, you can explore the local markets or visit Ward's Lake for a peaceful stroll around the lake.
Day 2: Shillong Sightseeing

After breakfast, get ready for a day full of exploration around Shillong. Start with a visit to the picturesque Umiam Lake (Barapani), located around 15 km from Shillong. It’s a beautiful spot for boating and offers a peaceful ambiance. Then head to Elephant Falls, a beautiful three-tiered waterfall, perfect for photo opportunities. Visit the Shillong Peak, the highest point in Shillong, offering breathtaking views of the city and surrounding hills.. End the day by relaxing at Police Bazaar, Shillong's busiest market.
Day 3: Shillong to Cherrapunji Sightseeing

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra), around 2 hours from Shillong. Start your day by visiting the famous Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. It’s an iconic spot where the waterfall cascades down into a deep gorge. Stay overnight in Cherrapunji.
Day 4: Cherrapunji to Dawki Excursion & Return to Shillong

On Day 4, take a day trip to Dawki, a small town located near the India-Bangladesh border. Dawki is famous for the Umngot River, known for its crystal-clear waters. You can take a serene boat ride on the river, where you’ll witness the surreal sight of boats floating on the clear waters with a backdrop of lush hills. After the boat ride, head towards Mawlynnong Village, also known as Asia's cleanest village, where you can explore the well-maintained streets and learn about the village’s commitment to cleanliness. In the late afternoon, return to Shillong for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Shillong to Guwahati & Kamakhya Temple Visit

On the last day of your trip, after breakfast, depart from Shillong and head back to Guwahati (3 hours drive). Once in Guwahati, visit the iconic Kamakhya Temple, situated atop the Nilachal Hill. This is one of the most important Shakti Peethas in India, dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture, sacred rituals, and spiritual significance. You can spend some time exploring the temple complex and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
